Czech Republic submits official candidature

In line with the rules accepted in the margins of the June European Council, the Czech Republic has today transferred in full its official offer for the relocation of the EBA to the relevant parties.

On Monday 5 January 2017 the government of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka agreed to the creation of the post of Government Commissioner for the Candidature for the Relocation of the EBA to the Czech Republic. Mr. Karel Dobeš has been chosen to assume the newly created post.

Letter to the presidents of the European Council and European Commission on the Czech Republic’s candidature for the relocation of the EBA

On the margins of the April European Council meeting Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka delivered a letter addressed to the presidents of the European Council and European Commission informing the leaders of the Czech Republic’s candidature for the relocation of the EBA.

The Government of the Czech Republic adopts decision to strive for the relocation of EBA

The cabinet of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka decided today that the Czech Republic will strive to relocate the European Banking Authority to the Czech Republic in the context of the process tied to the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU.
