European Heritage Days start in Prague
11.9.2020 — Every year, usually in early autumn, the doors of the most interesting monuments, buildings and other spaces of interest, many of which are normally inaccessible, open to the public as part of the European Heritage Days. Between the 12th and the 20th of September, visitors can see most of them for free.
Christmas exhibition on medieval masterpieces
16.12.2019 — The National Gallery has been running an exhibition on mediaeval and early Renaissance art in the Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia in the Old Town of Prague since November. On the 18th of December, the National Gallery is organising Christmas guided tours to selected Christmas-themed panel paintings and 14thand 15th century sculptures, with themes such as Christ's childhood, the Adoration of the Magi, and Madonna with Child, among others.

The project Ledová Praha invites children to engage with heritage centres in Prague
24.1.2019 — On Friday, the 1st of February 2019, schoolchildren in the Czech Republic will enjoy a school break. As in previous years, children will participate in project Ledová Praha by visiting monuments, museums and other centres of heritage in Prague. Over the long weekend from the 1st to the 3rd of February, families and groups of children will collect their Ledová karta, a free card that grants free or reduced admission to many museums and galleries in Prague, (such as the National Museum, the Jewish Museum in Prague and the Czech Police Museum) and other places of interest (for example, Prague Castle, Strahov Library and Loreta Praha). This year, about thirty historical and cultural centres of heritage are taking part.

1.12.2017 — Old Town Hall to host the best of Czech Press Photo 2017 until the end of January. The exhibition presents a total of almost 500 photographs and videos from over 100 authors.

New Year's projection to light up the National Museum Historic Building
29.12.2019 — The city of Prague will welcome the year 2020 with a New Year's projection mapping called 'MY, PRAHA' ('WE, PRAGUE'), which will light up the National Museum's historic building on Wenceslas Square. Both the residents of Prague and visitors to the Czech capital will have the opportunity to see this relatively new form of spatial art on the 1st of January 2020 at 6:15pm, 7:15pm and 8:15pm.
Celebrate Indian Independence on Střelecký Island
13.8.2019 — The Bollywood Film Festival, in cooperation with the Indian Embassy in Prague, has prepared a family fun day with a rich cultural programme to celebrate Indian Independence Day. On the 15th of August 1947, British rule in India ceased and the nation became independent. You can commemorate this event on the 15th of August on Střelecký Island in Prague.
Prague: the heart of nations
29.5.2019 — The 21st international festival, "Prague Heart of Nations 2019", is the largest joint event for minorities in the Czech Republic, bringing a wealth of traditions from nations around the world. From the 30th of May to the 3rd of June, the festival will symbolically take place in the heart of Europe - the historical centre of Prague. Since 1999, musicians, singers and dancers have come to the Czech capital to perform traditional folk art from their native countries. This year, Prague will welcome a wide range of artists once again.
