Mayors of the V4 capitals extended congratulations to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel
15.7.2020 — The mayors of the V4 capitals have signed an open letter to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in which they extended their congratulations to Germany's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Mayors have also expressed their commitment to the European Green Deal and the need for significantly increased direct green urban funding in the EU's next Multiannual Financial Framework.
Prague to host festival dedicated to famous Czech composer
15.10.2019 — From the 16th to the 18th of October, Zelenka Festival Prague - Dresden will feature the work of Baroque genius Jan Dismas Zelenka. The festival venues are the Church of the Virgin Mary under the Chain ('kostel Panny Marie pod řetězem') in the Lesser Town ('Malá Strana') and the Knight Hall of the Grand Priory Palace ('Rytířský sál Velkopřevorského paláce').

Japanese spring celebrations in Vyšehrad
11.6.2020 — The 'Bodaiju macuri' or 'Feast of Lindens', the Japanese celebration of spring, will take place on Friday and Saturday, the 12th and 13th of June, in Vyšehrad in Prague.
Prague establishes emergency Assistance Centres
20.4.2020 — Assistance Centres ('Asistenční centrum pomoci') will be established in the Municipal Library of Prague in case of emergencies with a large number of casualties and other major crisis situations. It will primarily serve to provide information and assistance to people affected by an emergency, as well as their loved ones.

30.11.2011 — There are many ways how to travel in Prague: the beauty of the city can be explored by tram, metro, bus, boat, funicular, taxi, car or bike. The most comfortable way to travel in the historical centre is the public transport, which can take you almost anywhere. It is cheap and quick. Travelling by car is recommended only exceptionally.
Baroque Bastion XXXI offers great views and art

New circus festival Letní Letná takes place with reduced programme
30.6.2020 — Fans of new circus will be pleased to hear that Letní Letná, the popular new circus festival, will take place this year after all, and only part of the programme will be postponed until next year. The 17th annual Letní Letná festival will take place from the 18th to the 25th of August in Letenské sady in Prague. Unfortunately, the programme will not be the same, but it is still well worth a visit!
Prague City Assembly
21.11.2018 — Prague City Assembly has 65 members that are elected in municipal elections by Prague citizens for a four-year period. The following parties, movement, and coalition are represented for the election period 2018 - 2022: Česká pirátská strana, PRAHA SOBĚ, koalice "TOP 09, STAN a KDU-ČSL", ODS, ANO 2011. Prague City Assembly holds a session once a month (or as needed) and its meetings are open to the public. Meetings of the Assembly are convened in writing and made available to the public. Prague City Hall Assembly decides on significant matters that concern Prague. It puts forward bills in the Chamber of Deputies and approves the Prague City budget, both of which have been previously discussed with individual city districts. Additionally, the Assembly approves the City and territorial districts development programs, issues generally binding regulations, grants honorary citizenships, and awards of the City of Prague. The guitarist Enver İzmaylov will perform at the Jazz club ‘U Staré paní’
23.2.2019 — As part of the Jazz Meets World Festival, Enver İzmaylov, master guitar player, will perform on the 26th of February 2019 in the club 'U Staré paní'. İzmaylov is renowned for his unique playing technique and instrument tuning. He is of Tartar origin and was born in 1955 in Fergana, in the former Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, to a Crimean-Tatar family. His family was deported to Uzbekistan from Crimea, where the guitarist returned in 1989.
Show jumping competitions return to Velká Chuchle Racecourse
2.5.2019 — Velká Chuchle Racecourse in Prague has prepared an attractive novelty for its visitors. After a few decades, show jumping is making its comeback here. The first event will take place on Friday, the 3rd of May, and admission is free!
Do not miss the exhibition of state gifts in the Senate
24.3.2019 — In the 'Mytologická chodba' (Mythological Corridor) of the 'Valdštejnský palác' (Wallenstein Palace), which is the seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, there is a unique exhibition of gifts that Senators have received from foreign delegations over the past twenty years. Gift exchanges are a traditional part of meetings of state officials with delegations from abroad. This diplomatic protocol was applied in Antiquity and its first written record is from the Congress of Vienna in 1815.
New public transport measures
22.3.2020 — According to the Mayor of Prague's instruction, all public transport passengers in Prague are obliged to use respiratory protection, such as a mask, bandana or scarf, from the 17th of March onwards.
