30.4.2019 — Prague City Gallery has prepared yet another exhibition as part of the 'Start up' series, which is a great opportunity for younger generations of Czech visual artists.

2.4.2019 — On the 7th of April 2019, this year's horseracing season will begin in Velká Chuchle. The day will bring a total of eight races. The highlights of the opening afternoon will be the 92nd Gomba Handicap and the 61st April Stakes.

29.1.2019 — Skipark Prague in Vypich, a popular cross-country skiing system with artificial snow, is open to the public from the 25th of January 2019. It is available for free for all cross-country enthusiasts from 8am to 9pm daily, as long as favourable climatic conditions last.

9.3.2020 — X10 Theatre will feature the Latvian dance performance 'Labrys' on the 10th of March, as part of the 'Spectaculare' festival. Two million people live in Latvia, and it currently has nine professional, and at least two hundred amateur and semi-professional, theatre groups. Unfortunately, Latvian theatre is not often shown in the Czech Republic, so theatregoers, especially those interested in dance theatre, should not miss this opportunity.

21.1.2019 — There are more than 130,000 lampposts in Prague and each pole is marked with a unique number code. It accurately identifies a particular pole and provides information about its location. "We have a database of these numbers that is accessible to the Integrated Rescue system. Emergency line operators are able to quickly locate the caller when they give them the number of the nearest public lamppost. In practice, it helps a lot," Jan Chabr says. Chabr is Prague's City Hall Councillor and is in charge of Prague's municipal assets.

4.11.2020 — Hlavní město ve spolupráci s pražskými domy dětí a mládeže reagovalo na rostoucí technické problémy, které mnohdy komplikují dálkové vzdělávání dětí. Vytvořilo webovou stránku www.pomocskolam.cz, prostřednictvím které mohou jak učitelé, tak i žáci nově požádat o technickou pomoc.

14.2.2019 — Lovers of Nordic movies are certainly looking forward to this year's annual festival Nordic Film Winter. Running from the 14th to the 19th of February 2019, the festival will offer 26 movies from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Lithuania. For six of them, it will be their Czech premiere! All films are subtitled in English. The traditional feast Nordic and Baltic film production is coming to Czech and Moravian cinemas for the ninth time, with 22 cinemas from all over the country taking part in the event.

25.4.2019 — From the 26th to the 28th April 2019, nineteen galleries will take part in the third annual Gallery Weekend Prague.

31.5.2019 — The season of food festivals is in full swing, with Prague Ice Cream Festival kicking off on the 2nd of June in Prague Exhibition Grounds (Výstaviště Praha).

30.1.2019 — One of the most attractive athletic disciplines - the pole vault - will be presented at the international hall meeting Zimní Pražská tyčka on the 9th of February in Strahov. Zimní Pražská tyčka has been held yearly since 1996 and is a sister competition to the international athletics meeting Pražská tyčka. Of course, the best Czech athletes always take part in both meetings.

13.6.2014 — Hlavní město Praha přebírá k 15. červnu letošního roku podporu Opencard od firmy EMS (dříve Haguess). Pro Pražany se nic nemění, karta funguje dál, mohou se na ní nahrávat kupony a jsou zachovány všechny její funkce.

30.7.2020 — The residents of Prague will have the opportunity to sail down the Vltava River in a replica of a traditional boat called a 'šíf'. It is a large wooden boat, similar to a barge, which has been used to transport cargo including stones, sand, salt, grain and beer for centuries. This particular 'šíf' was built two years ago with support from Vltavan Čechy, a union which connects Vltava River associations from Prague, Davle, Štěchovice and Purkarec.
