20.6.2020 — The weekend of the 21st and the 22nd of June will be dedicated to large African mammals in Prague Zoo. World Giraffe Day celebrations and a baby elephant christening will take place here. World Giraffe Day falls on the 21st of June, the longest day of the year, but it will be celebrated in Prague Zoo on Saturday, the 20th of June, this year. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation, who announced this day, protects and monitors these incredible mammals in the wild. Zoos celebrate giraffes on this day all around the world.

22.9.2020 — All visitors to the zoo probably know the pavilions, enclosures and expositions. However, the zoological garden also offers the opportunity to walk local trails, leading to a time when the planet Earth was just being formed. The Geostezka path leading from the ungulate enclosures to Gočár Houses in the upper part of the zoo winds around the rock massif so closely that it does not allow for the construction of pavilions and enclosures with animals. Here, visitors can focus on the paleontological trail called 'Footprints in Time'.

31.10.2020 — Do not despair if you missed the exhibition 'The Beauty of Wild Horses' in Prague Zoo before its closure. The garden has prepared an online version of the exhibition, which is now available on their website. Prague Zoo has played an important role in saving Przewalski's horse from extinction since 1921, and more recently, in returning these wild horses to their natural habitat, the steppes of central Asia. The zoo also keeps a breed registry for Przewalski's horse species.

22.10.2020 — Prague Zoo has been breeding polar bears since 1932, and they have had several significant breeding successes since then. However, taking care of them is very difficult and the 80-year-old pavilion is no longer suitable, so Prague Zoo is going to build a new Arctic pavilion.

31.8.2020 — Prague Zoo has been working to protect endangered Egyptian vultures in Bulgaria for a long time. Experts placed two young birds into two wild vultures' nests in the Eastern Rhodopes a few days ago as part of this programme.

29.3.2022 — Do výtvarné soutěže, kterou ke Světovému dni luskounů vyhlásilo hlavní město Praha a pražská zoologická zahrada, přišlo téměř 400 jedinečných obrázků. Porota měla nelehký úkol a nakonec vybrala 15 kreseb z kategorie Děti a 5 kreseb z kategorie Děti starší 15 let a dospělí. Vítězům gratulujeme, všem účastníkům děkujeme.

26.9.2018 — Lanovka, která by měla spojit Podbabu se ZOO a s Bohnicemi, má podporu hlavního města i Prahy 6 a Prahy 8. První cestující by mohla svézt mezi lety 2023 a 2024. Cesta z Dejvic do Bohnic se zkrátí skoro o půl hodiny, samotná stavba lanové dráhy je otázkou jednoho roku. Půjde o nejtišší a nejekologičtější dopravní prostředek, který by mohl začít vozit cestující v rámci systému Pražské integrované dopravy.

12.9.2024 — Ve čtvrtek večer se sešla povodňová komise, která projednala aktuální situaci s hrozícími povodněmi. V pátek v 10:00 hodin budou uzavřena vrata na Čertovce a připravuje se také preventivní stavba některých protipovodňových opatření.

3.12.2021 — V neděli 5. prosince můžete v pražské zoologické zahradě potkat Mikuláše s čertem a andělem. Už od 10 hodin budou chodit po areálu a rozdávat dětem drobné dárky.

8.2.2011 — Rada hl. města Prahy dnes odsouhlasila šest projektů ze 7. výzvy Operačního programu Praha - Konkurenceschopnost. 231 milionů korun je určeno na revitalizaci městské zeleně v Malešicích, Štěrboholích, Řepích a v pražské ZOO. Úpravy čekají také Grébovku na Praze 2 a park U Zahrádkářské kolonie v Praze Libuši. Konečné slovo při schvalování dotací z Evropské unie pak bude mít Zastupitelstvo hlavního města Prahy, které zasedá 17. února 2011.

27.8.2019 — The "widowed" Siberian tiger Rádža is getting a new partner. The tigress Arila came to Prague from Germany and can be seen in the enclosure at the top of the zoo.

30.3.2020 — The black and rufous elephant shrew, (Rhynchocyon petersi) is a new resident in Prague Zoo's indoor African pavilion. Although it looks like a mouse, it is related to elephants and aardvarks.

24.5.2019 — From May to September, you will not only hear tigers' roars and parrots' squawks, but also classical music at Prague Zoo. 'Hudební procházky' (Music Walks) will take place every Sunday at 1pm in Gočár's Houses.

21.8.2023 — Přes čtyři desítky druhů sklípkanů, včetně toho vůbec největšího, jsou k vidění na výstavě v pražské zoo v Galerii Gočárovy domy.
