Enjoy French music on the longest day of the year
The French Institute in Prague ('Institut français de Prague') will open its doors to the general public on the 21st of June, the summer solstice.
You can go there with family and friends for an evening full of music and fun, in short, a pleasant ‘French Rendez-Vous’. The French Institute in Prague not only offers a wide selection of language courses, but also an opportunity to learn more about French culture. Cinema Kino 35, Gallery 35, and the only French bookshop in Prague, Bookstore 35, are all part of the Institute. You can enjoy the French-speaking environment while sipping a cup of delicious coffee in Café 35. The Institute is also concerned with French cultural diplomacy, and along with French Lyceum in Prague (‘Lycée Français de Prague’) and the French Embassy, it helps spread awareness about France. At the Open Day you will have the opportunity to explore and learn.
French chansons
A concert by the band Tereza & Jazz will welcome guests in the Institute’s yard. The young and talented singer Tereza Dvořáková will perform famous French chansons by Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. The live music will be followed by DJ Midou.
French Market will offer barbecue, French cheeses, sausages, great wine, and stalls with other good food.
Escape rooms
Entertainment will also be taken care of. For example, the organisers have prepared an escape room game with a very interesting theme, The Phantom of the Opera. You can solve puzzles and complete tasks, with the aim of winning interesting prizes such as tickets to Cinema 35, delicious wines and much more.
For children
The French Institute is not forgetting its youngest visitors. Children will appreciate the ever-popular face painting, an animation workshop, and a reading from the children’s book ‘The Story of Babar’.
The fun will definitely not end at sunset. From 10pm, the evening will continue with an after-party in the new club nearby, Swim.
Come and enjoy a real French party!
