Prague to financially support fine art

Hana Třeštíková, Prague Councillor for Culture and Tourism, will propose another measure to support culture in the Czech capital to Prague City Council. This time, the financial help will be used to support the visual arts.

Prague will release a total of 10 million CZK from the Art for the City Scheme (‘Umění pro město’) to support contemporary artists. Prague City Gallery will use this money to purchase new artworks for their collections, and to finance mural paintings. Some of this fund will also be used to help organise short-term exhibitions in public spaces.

Prague City Council has financially supported art and cultural institutions, cultural activities online and publishing during the coronavirus pandemic.
