Prestigious canoe slalom races culminate in Troja, Prague
From the 6th to the 8th of September, Prague will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals. The series of top-class canoe slalom races will culminate at the artificial canoe slalom course in Troja, along with the Extreme Canoe Slalom CSLX World Championships 2019.
This year’s canoe slalom season is slowly coming to an end, and athletes are getting ready for the last races of the year before the Olympic season.
For the sixteenth time, Prague will witness the Canoe Slalom World Cup, and what is more, this year Prague is hosting the final races of the whole series. For the first time, the Extreme Canoe Slalom World Championships will also take place in Troja.
“We all look forward to the races, it is clear that the climax for us is the indescribable atmosphere thanks to the support of domestic fans in Troja, Prague,” Vít Přindiš, the first Czech winner of the World Cup series two years ago, said.
Great season
The Czech canoe slalom athletes have started the season in great style. They managed to win medals at the European Championships, junior events in Bratislava and Krakow, and they also took leading positions in the first three races of the World Cup series. Sports fans can therefore look forward to a great event in Troja.
International sports stars
One of the best teams is coming from Slovakia, with Olympic medallists such as Matěj Beňuš, Michal Martikán, and the legendary Elena Kaliská.
Jessica Fox, the world's best racer and World Paddle Award Sportswoman of the Year 2017 and 2018, will not be missed at the start of the final race in Troja. Other great athletes will come from France and Germany.
