Imagination. The novelist Iain Bank and Michal Ajvaz are now presented on http://www.pwf.cz/en/pwf-2010/. As always, bios,
pictures, interviews and excerpts brings you into the path of their Travels of Imagination.
Michal Ajvaz
Michal Ajvaz: Novelist, essayist, poet—his writing recreates Prague, opening its
streets and its buildings to an unexpected vision. “The beginning is something
more terrifying than chaos. Chaos is always an accessory to order and belongs to
our world—whereas the beginning is the quiet, feebleminded guffaw of a mad
god, from which the Word will be articulated. ”
Iain Banks
Iain Banks: Scottish rebel, he uses his science fiction and fiction works as a
mirror—showing us the reality of the World—forcing us to act as pure rebels.
“Truth is what matters; not just as an abstract concept but as part of a practical
process. We need to search for truth through reason, observation and experiment—
that’s what really matters. The rest is just fairy stories.”
