Beautifully renovated lookout at Letná
One of the most beautiful viewing points of Prague is situated between Hanavský Pavilion and the former Stalin Monument. However, the area used to be muddy and not very pleasant. Now, it has undergone a complete renovation. With a lovely path, greenery, and most importantly a decent wooden edge with a railing, the lookout allows for a comfortable view, both standing and sitting down. At the same time, it prevents further destruction of the slope. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to climb over a dangerous stone slope in order to take in one of the most beautiful shots of the Lesser Town and the Vltava River valley.
“As part of the efforts of the capital city of Prague to retain as much rainwater as possible, the original asphalt surface, which was in poor condition, was resurfaced with permeable granite paving.
We carry on in spirit of our climate change adaptation plan. The lookout was supplemented with new waste bins and traditional-style benches,” Petr Hlubuček, Prague Deputy Mayor for the Environment, said.
